On the evening of March 26th, 2025, Moises Ortega, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran residing in Norwalk Connecticut, reached out to us for help. He new we had a connection to Shepherd’s Men and he knew he needed help. Moises was suffering from a 100% service-related disability from combat. He was no longer able to fight neurological and mental health issues associated with a traumatic brain injury on his own. We immediately reached out to the Shepherd’s Men.
Within 24 hours, an outreach coordinator with the SHARE Military Initiative at the Shepherd’s Center was working with Moises. On September 24th, Moises graduated from SHARE. He is home today reunited with his wife and four children.
The Shepherd’s Men expedited Moises treatment and paid 100% of Moises travel, lodging and care.

We hope that you can join us as we honor Moises and raise funds for the Shepherd’s Men at our Annual Joint Forces Luncheon that is scheduled for April 30th at the Pavilion at the Southington Country Club.
